The Proof
What the AI did at Smart Homes & Gardens
Strategy
The shop asked the AI what was holding the business back. The data showed that people who visited the shop bought at a rate well above the e-commerce norm. Too few people were seeing the shop. So when Shopee offered discount campaigns, the answer was no, because discounts would have bought conversions the shop already had. The effort went into new product lines and visibility instead.
Pricing
The shop had priced for a 20% gross margin. Once platform fees were counted, that rule lost money across most of the range, and some products were selling at a loss without anyone noticing. It now prices for a margin after fees.
Suppliers
Every new supplier goes through the same check: can the shop earn a fair margin, or does the brand already sell directly in Singapore at a lower price? Several well-known brands failed it and were not stocked. There is also a survival test, a target date and profit level the business must reach to continue, and the monthly report tracks progress against it.
Operations
Sales data flows into dashboards that replaced the spreadsheet. Product listings follow a single rulebook, and supplier emails become tracked tasks. The AI prepared the shop's product registrations with IMDA, Singapore's telecoms regulator. Every decision is logged with its reasoning, so nothing depends on memory.
The team still makes every price change, sends every message and does every stock count. The AI handles the analysis and the paperwork behind those calls. We keep the same division for clients.
